Fatou is an incredible stylist! She managed to fit me in for a sew-in wig install at the last minute, and her expertise and professionalism are simply outstanding. Surround yourself with a beautiful atmosphere and feel like royalty. Her friendly and efficient approach made the whole experience an absolute pleasure. Her prices are very reasonable, and she offers a wide range of hair products to suit every customer's needs and style preferences. I'm so thrilled with the service she provided, and I'm proud to say that I've found my forever stylist in her.

I’m biracial and this was my first time getting braids ever and I am so pleased!! I’ve heard horror stories about braiders and she was exactly the opposite of what I’ve heard… kind, honest, efficient, and talented. I had no idea what I wanted or needed, Fatou guided me through what hair to buy and made sure that I knew how to take care of them when she was done.DID I MENTION HOW FAST SHE IS????? Bro, on a walk-in that I had to make a stop for hair, I was in and out in less than 4 hours and I LOOK AMAZING!The shop is absolutely beautiful (check out the teal & gold pictures on the walls… my favorite colors!), the chairs are comfy, and the conversation great! Her other employee was so sweet too!All in all, if you’re needing your hair done, her hands are the ones you want in your head! 🥰🥰

If I could give this "daycare" 0 stars, I would. This shop was rowdy and unconcerned with me as a paying client. Not only were they late, but her 3 kids were running and screaming as well as Fatou herself. I wanted to leave because I was uncomfortable. I was willing to pay for what was done, but she gave me two ultimatums; either pay the full amount ($300) or have the hair taken out. I refused, and she called the cops on me and locked the door. I understand kids can't always be tended to, but having them constantly crying and throwing things near you is unprofessional. On top of that, she left me alone to attend to another client. They got a full-blown wash and dry and comb out while I sat there with barely half my hair done. She didn't even do the style correctly. I was also told I needed to be quick with my phone call because she had other clients, yet she had multiple phone calls and conversations and lessons that shifted her work from me. I can't say my experience was appropriate or professional in any manner.

It was my first time visiting Fatou in Sacramento. I recently moved from the Bay Area and was looking for someone to braid my hair. She was so nice in explaining the process of what type of style would work for me and my hair type. It's a family owned shop, and her children were there due to it being the summer and the kids being out of school. The kids were adorable and so funny. Mom has her hands full with those boys! Her daughter also braids hair, a very sweet and beautiful young lady! I will definitely return when I need my hair braided. I have received so many compliments on my hair. Love it!

Professional, friendly, quick and efficient!Fatou was a life saver for me! I drove from Nevada for a braid appt and the braider I was to meet cancelled on me as the appt was about to start. As devastated as I was (which anyone who gets cancelled for a hair appt would understand) I called Fatou’s braid shop hoping to get in the next day and TO MY SURPRISE she suggested she could even do my hair the SAME day even though her shop was only about to close in two hours! She did my hair in only 3 hours (including the time it took to take my braids out) which I’m not accustomed to having done but she did it! And my hair looks amazing!!!! Some people are great… and then some people are sent from GOD with gifts, talents, and kindness to help you look your absolute best! Fatou is that person! I highly recommend her and look forward to traveling again just to get my hair braided by her. Thank you for prepping my hair for my birthday, Fatou! :)

I had an amazing experience at Fatou K's ..I chose this shop because it received the best Google reviews In Sacramento.I called at the last minute to get my hair braided for Burning Man...she was super accommodating and fit me in right away. She was communicative, clear about what I wanted, and she and her staff were very friendly.Their work is great! My hair turned out beautifully and I love it! I will absolutely come back again!I would absolutely recommend Fatou K's shop!Be proactive...call first, have photos ready, and bring cash for your service.

This is a good and professional shop. I made my appointment 2 weeks in advance, I confirmed a few days before and the appointment was on time,This was my first time at Fatou K's and my braids came out better than the braids installed in New York.Everyone was friendly and welcoming, It is also a pretty shop (decor-wise).I will return to this shop for my next install.

I called to make an appointment after my previous hairstylist flaked on me. I was able to get in that same week and my experience was not only amazing, but I will never go back to the other stylist again! The atmosphere was fun, and for what I received the value is beyond great. Fatou gave me beautiful box braids in no time. I also purchased their in-house Hair Treatment Oil for my hair and scalp (tends to be on the dry side) and it smells wonderful. I’ll update with results after using it for a while. I highly recommend this salon!

Fatou K is absolutely amazing; she radiates positive energy the moment she steps into her hair shop. Recently she worked with my high-profile client doing medium sized individual box braids. Fatou is professional, energetic, and fast. She truly understands the importance of excellent service and care. My client especially appreciated Fatou’s ability to be discreet when working with VIP. Her 5-stars are well earned.

Went to Fatous salon for the first time. I don’t know anything about braids n never had it done before but i wanted to try somethin new. They gave me a free consulation to talk about what I want n what I can do with the length of my hair. I eventually decided on box braids n it came out great. Literally transformed my look n was done efficient n fast in around over 2 hours by Fatou. She’s a professional n her shop is very upscale n aesthetically pleasing with the african music but go here for braids she knows all about it n will hook you up.

PROS - Amazing job; Fatou willing to work with me despite confusion btwn shops and it being her day off. CONS - Making me uncomfortable; Not being clear about when to pay prior the appt starting; Not fully understanding what I was asking for.I’m new to growing out my hair, trying new styles and getting my hair done at shops, so I’m unfamiliar with how things work. I’ve only been to 2 appts at one shop ever. I was visiting CA and researched different places and called a few. Long story short, there was confusion, especially on my part, about which shop I was talking to: Fatou K & Sow K. I ended up at Fatou K. She told me the confusion btwn shops was common and it was her day off. She offered to work with me or I could go to the other shop with no hard feelings. She also said she would have to leave at a certain time to pick up her kid and come back to finish my hair. I said okay. Her brother was doing maintenance around the shop so they were primarily speaking…I think French, during my visit. When it came to what I wanted, I asked for her opinion. I wasn’t sure what I wanted. I knew I didn’t want it to be too long, but able to put it in a ponytail so I can sleep in it. I thought shoulder length would be okay. She opted for a simple-natural look. I liked that. She started and I had thought she said she grabbed the wrong hair length and would trim it so it wasn’t too long. I said okay. Fast forward, she’s halfway done and needed to get her kid. Before the appt started, I had to get cash bc she doesn’t do CashApp. I’m used to paying for services at the end, or a deposit and then paying when done (similar to my last shop). I expected the same here. She said that I had to pay right now so she could pick up her kid. She’d be gone for 15-20 minutes and would come back to finish my hair. I told her I could pay half bc only half of my hair was done and then she could get the rest when finished. She challenged me saying, “you don’t trust me?” I was very thrown off. It was not a question of trust. I don’t know you! I’m in an unfamiliar area, and I’m paying a lot of hard earned money. As a customer, I felt uneasy being there and kept thinking if this was a scam? I reluctantly paid and right after she texted someone and said, “never mind I was able to get someone to get my kid.” Call it what you will, but the timing didn’t sit well with me. I was even more quiet. She later explained some past client issues and even on one of her reviews having to call the cops. She thought about putting up a sign to let people know to pay before services. If this was stated beforehand, I would’ve felt better about paying. When she finished, I looked at my hair and it was a bit past mid-back. I wasn’t worried bc she said at the start that she could trim it. Fatou, again, made me uncomfortable saying that it was my fault that it was too long bc of my indecisiveness and that I was new and didn’t know what I wanted. Partly true. I was indecisive about the color, so I asked and went with her input which worked out great. Yes I’m new, but I just wanted it long enough to easily put it up so I can sleep. She kept mentioning buns and showed me pics when I clearly said I didn’t want my hair to be that long. I’m a guy and didn’t need my hair to be down to my butt, personal preference lol. She did her best to trim what she could and warned that she couldn’t cut too much bc it would unravel. I was nervous about the length, but I grew to really like it. It’s been 3 weeks and it’s still holding up. Would I go back? Probably. I think if I found her properly I would’ve had a better experience. I realize some of the confusion was my fault, but Fatou did say it was common btwn the other shop, Sow K. I think they both need to better establish who they are, and with similar names and both Senegalese, it made it confusing to discern what I was looking at. I want to at least thank Fatou for taking time out of her day to help me. I really ended up liking what she did with my hair.

After being scammed and hurt, literally my scalp got bruised. I was scared of getting braids. I was in town and found Fatou on Google and called.She made time for me and helped me through the whole process, what type of extensions to buy, how to care for them. She was fast, like really fast. And just an awesome gal. Needless to say I live 2 Hours away And i will be returning. You got a customer for life. Thank you Thank you.

Visited Fatou’s today and got medium sized box braids. All I can say is Fatou is amazing. She finished my braids in exactly 3 hours!! I thought I was going to be in there for awhile and I asked her how much longer and she told me she only had one braid left! After only 3 hours! I was completely shocked! She is a very genuine person and provided me with some great tips on how to help with all of my gray hairs growing on my head (I’m 32😩) and how to grow my hair out long. Thank you Fatou for the very neat and perfect braids! I will definitely be back!! 😊

I would like to say that Fatou is very friendly and professional. Her braiding skills are excellent. I have been looking for a stylist to do crochet braids and she is differently on point. I’ve been going to Fatou K’s Hair Braiding Salon for the past two years. I’m originally from NJ, where there are tons of African Hair Braiding salons and I’ve been getting my hair braided for as long as I can remember. I know healthy, high quality braiding when I see it, which is why Fatouk K’s Hair Braiding Salon is my go-to salon. I don’t settle, because I get what I pay for. Whenever, I enter the salon, I know my hair will turn out great and will last for at least several months (often times, four months). I even drive a good distance to get to the salon, because I know I can expect them to be direct about my styling choice, efficient with the braiding, and that I’ll be more than satisfied with the outcome. Thanks to Fatou and the wonderful ladies at her salon for always taking care of my hair!😉

I found Fatou on google. She responded quickly and I was able to book my 2 girls. Fatou is amazing she completed both of girls in less than 7 hours. My girls are in love with there singles. I highly recommended Fatou for your hair braiding needs as she is fast, sufficient, Professional, and affordable. Thank you Fatou we will be returning.

I called to schedule an appointment for my son to get his hair braided the day before school. And Right off the back, On the phone you can tell this lady has a straight attitude. And she,s Demanding pictures of my son's hair before Even making an appointment she claims.. I actually agreed to it. But after Thinking about it and the way she was demanding the pictures like she would not give me service I just decided not to go. WOULD NOT RECCOMEND THIS STORE.

I was in desperate need of getting my hair done for my birthday when I came across fatouks salon on google, not only did they fit me in with perfect timing but the work they did was absolutely beautiful! Theresa did my singles with cornrows in the front and I have never been so obsessed with my hair! She was fast, neat, affordable and she shared African food with me😊 I had a beautiful experience here and I will 100% be coming back to her for all my hair needs. I highly recommend this salon.

I havent had my hair braided in a while and had no idea where i should get mine done. Luckily i found Fatou k's salon. Fatou was definitely reassuring and very patient with me. I strongly recommend visiting fatou's hair salon if you ever need your hair braided.No doubt the best salon I’ve been to in the Sacramento area. My braids always turn out better than I expected. I’ve had my hair done multiple times now by Fatou and every time she does an amazing job

I tried to go to this salon for my hair to get braided because I saw good reviews. Unfortunately, I called and the lady told me that she would call me back. She never called back so I won't be going to her. I don't like poor customer service.I actually called on a Friday afternoon, not Sunday. And I did not get any missed calls from this salon.

Phenomenal experience and results! I came to them to braid my hair before a big surgery coming up. Fatou's customer service was amazingly accommodating and Kamisha's skill with my difficult hair was way above and beyond... both stepped way above their call of duty and I could not be more grateful. It was such a blessing to have these two take such great of me... I will be coming here for ever and will highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you again ladies!✨💞✨🙏🏽✨😇✨

I called this place because I needed my hair to be braided into simple cornrows. No one answered at first, then I get a text saying they missed my call. I call back and I believe the owner answered, and I asked her if they can do my braids. She said yes but she didnt have her book for appointments with her and that she would call me back the next morning for the availability. I even texted her stating what I needed to be done just to make sure she had my number. She never called me back and never texted me. Poor customer service! I will NOT recommended this place.

Went there for the first time back in May. Got small to (some) medium singles, breast length, with 5 packs of hair done by Fatou and Ida. Took 6.5 hours. Originally asked for medium braids but was told my hair was too thin, next time. Smaller braids were put in. Ida did 75% of the braids. It was $250 plus the 5 packs at $10. $300 total. Lasted 3 months and not one braid came out. Looked great.Went back 3 months later. Fatou did my braids but she didn't remember me from last time. Told her I got small braids last time but want medium braids this time. She asked for a pic of last braids. Showed it to her. She said okay and started my braids.I was in the chair 8 hours this time, just Fatou on my head this time. The braids came out the same size as the last time, small. I even brought a pack of hair, a color they didn't have.When she finished I went to get her the $300 cash like the last time. Gave her the money and thanked her. In a room full of people she said did the funds I gave her include the packs of hair she used on me? I told her it did, and the same size braids as last time were done and with my pack of hair I (overpaid) her. She said no it should be $330. She said did you see how long it took me to do it and the size of these braids? They're small (remember I asked for medium this time). She said it was $300 w/o the packs, $330 with 3 packs at 8 hours of work. She said whoever charged me last time gave me a discount. She forgets that it was her who charged me last time. I was like but you charged me less for the same length and size last time. Whatever. I didn't argue. I just paid her and left. It wasn't about the money but more about the principal and pull- me- to- the- side if you want to discuss payment sort of thing.It's been a month since I've been there, contemplating this review. So far even with a lot of care I've got braids coming out. The ends are tangling because the ends weren't finished. I can't see this hair lasting another 3 months. I thought Fatou and I were alright at first but I won't be going back.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! RUN THE OTHER WAY. THEY ARE HEAVY HANDED AND OVERPRICED. I got tribal braids done on a Friday. I had this style done numerous times and never with damage. I asked the braider not to braid my edges so tight. By the next Thursday, the braids pulled a bald spot directly in the front of my head. I called the owner to discuss a resolution. Fatou denied responsibility and blamed me for picking the style. She refused refund (partially or otherwise). She refused to restyle. Fatou or her employee never once tried to talk me out of it the day of the appt. Instead, when I asked could they do the style, she assured they could and mentioned no potential damage to my edges. DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON! RUN, DON’T WALK, THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION! THEY ARE HEAVY HANDED AND OVERPRICED!

I just recently moved to the Sac area from the East Bay and desperately needed a good hair care braiding stylist. Well I have finally found a very professional and knowledgeable braiding professional and Hair care specialist. Today I walked out feeling like a queen in the latest boho locs crochet style braids. Already I have received so many compliments. I just want to recommend Fatourfor all your professional hair care needs and the latest Braiding trends. I finally found a hair care home.

They work very well. The quality of job is fine and you will get what you need. If you want to have a very specific hair style then have a photo with yourself to show and I would say again they give you what you want. and the reason I give just 3 stars is bc place is not very well decorated and also AC was not that good. I also wanted water to drink but couldn’t find it anywhere in the shop. However, I recommend to buy the hair strands by yourself if you want to save money.

Made an appointment yesterday for today for my husband to get dreads. Appointment was for 10:30 he gets there and they ask him to come back later this afternoon cause she got another hair call this morning!! What about my appointment!?? Husband works 3rd shift that’s why I made an appointment. Very unprofessional could have called and told me instead of me wasting gas to go all the way there and working our work schedules around for thiUgh very inconvenient

I highly recommend Fatou K's salon...I am a very picky person when it comes to my hair...I went there to get crochet braids done with straight textured hair and when Fatou finished it was better than the pic....She is very up to date and easy to talk to in regards to several styles.....I will be sticking with Fatou K's she is great!!!!
