I agree with Jillian Janelle Rosansky. I am annoyed with the price switching and lack of organization as well. Plus, the ladies working there get ruder and ruder every time I go in. They do not flat out explicitly accuse you of stealing, but it is understood implicitly. Maybe they should have someone watching the sale rack outside because I constantly find empty hangers there and bring them in to the cashier on duty. I have been shopping here since they opened. There were some ladies at the register who were saying they were ready to pay, but were still trying coats on. I was ready to pay, and then go back to try on some other items. I think it is a bit unorganized there with the pricing and fitting room. There is only one fitting room. People were putting clothes in and holding the fitting room, but not actually trying the clothes on. So I went into the fitting room and the other lady's clothes were put somewhere else to hold for her. When she asked for her clothes, no one could find where they were being held for her. I learned to use thr baskets that they now provide. I had an issue with a dress that had two different prices. It was a Calvin Klein. The original tag was from Macy's and it said $59.99, but had another sticker on top that said $29.99. I did not realize that I was charged the Macy's store of $59.99 because there was an additional FAM tag that said $59.99. So it looks like Macy's sold it for $29.99, but FAM sells it for full retail price of $59.99. That is crazy! Why would I shop there when I could go to Macy's and get the price it was actually marked for? When I told her there were two dresses with two different prices she has the audacity to say “why did you not bring it to my attention” As if I knew she was going to charge full retail price? I also did not know that I could not see the prices on the scanner when I asked her about it. There is no way I would pay $59.99 for a CK at a thrift store. I can get it cheaper at the Nordstrom's Rack or Macy's sale. The other issue is that they over price their habdbags and purses. Last week, I bought what I thought was a Brighton for $40. The second day I used it, the heart fell off on the zippers. Upon further inspecton at home, the inside of the bag said "Made in China". There was no Brighton tag with logo on the inside. I was sold a knock off as an original. When I went back, they had an original Brighton for $29.99, ten dollars less than what I paid for a knock off. The purses, handbags, and wallets are not worth the price they sell them for. You are better off going to the outlets or buying online. And you have to inspect the wallets very carefully. Many times the zippers are broken or pull end of the zipper is missing. So you pay $15 or $20, but then the repair is another $20, which is the same amount you would pay at the outlet. I do like that they are starting to label the clothes that are defective and putting what is wrong with it and "price as marked", probably because they do not give off anything additional for damages or defects like other thrift stores do. I think they should start pricing the handbags and wallets like they are doing with the dresses. I have brought three of my friends there who normally shop at The Hanger or Laura's House. I boycott Laura's House because of bad service. I do not donate to them either. However, I have supported FAM with donations and shopping. My friend always buys St. John Knits there. The last time we were there, she asked to look at some $20 pearl earrings. She gave them back to cashier to put away. Then another lady came up to us and asked, "Where are the pearl earrings?", as if we were going to steal them. Why would my friend do that when she had just spent $200 on a St. John's suit? When I walked into the store, I was told, "50% off for Easter". Later, I was told that it was 50% for Easter items only. Easter sale 8 days before Easter instead of the day before? I had to fight just to get the price honored for the CK dress. They cut the tags and toss them in the trash. Very stressful. Buyer Beware.
