Imagine, you are set for a wonderful time away from it all! And you are cruising along Frazier Mountain Pk Rd and you panic .. Do you have enough beer? What about gasoline?! And there it is! The last outpost before you cross into the great Los Padres unknown.
It is certainly safer than Mos Eisley, but, you do sometimes get the same random collection of unusual travellers and locals. I will focus on the outsider experience for this review simple because, small towns don't really need shop reviews for themselves ...
You would think, being a small town local service and outpost for sojourners that the pricing and service could be lax.... But I am quite pleased to say that this place is the mountain treasure that would please any dwarven lord...
When refueling, the gasoline is fairly priced, the towels full and the windshield wash actually has soap.
But, my dear friends, ahh when shopping, that is where this place shines. Row on row of savory non perishable snacks for your adventure.... Or ice and some perishable ones if you so choose. And the beverage selection! Beers? Sodas? So many choices.... But the liquor, it, my friends, is a full selection! I saw the bottle of Clase Azul and the myriad of bourbon and scotch choices... I have little doubt that there was an old bottle of Romulan Ale to be had if I looked hard enough (probably next to the Pappy Van Winkle)..... Oh yeah, and they are friendly.
So, did you pack well? Probably. Will you find something you should have packed? Certainly!
It is worth the stop? Yes. If anything, do your last fill-up here... Not at the lesser gas stations near the highway.
