When in Portsmouth, a visit to the Gorvett Gallery on Market Street is an absolute must. Don Gorvett is famous for his maritime color reduction woodcuts featuring coastal New England. I caught Don at Ogunquit's Heritage Museum where he described viewing his work as "more than one of confirmation but one of experience of discovery." For me, it is both, and I delight in the color, movement, physical energy, and craftsmanship of "Dune Estuary" as do my guests, as it now hangs in my dining-room. Thank you Don!
