I’ll start by saying that the service here is always pleasant. The store is stocked and clean. Yesterday stopped by my local store and did some shopping. When I got to the cashier that’s very nice other than the incident. The whole time I was there I could hear and see her coughing and sniffling and wiping her wet cough and sniffles not with a tissue but with her hands and sleeves. Right when I got to the area she started coughing a lot right into her hand and wiping her nose with her hand and proceeded to check out my products. I had to stop her and tell her to go disinfect herself please before you touch anything else. She stopped and went into the office behind closed doors as she denies the had sanitizer that I pointed out. So I’m not sure if she did or not. This inspires no confidence that she did. I don’t get paid to manage peoples employees. It is the obligation of management team to make sure that their employees know what to do in a cough and spit and sneezing situation. Also, I know she had been coughing and sneezing all day long and touching peoples things and running the register and stocking products, etc.. This is a very very very serious issue Even if we are not living in a pandemic, the fact that you are spreading mucus and saliva all over the place is unacceptable and extremely dangerous. I am debating whether I will ever return to the store again because of this incident. All I can think of is this lady wiping her nose and coughing into her hand and touching every single product that’s in that store and that she checked out.. Everyone that passed through that register has taken home this persons mucus and saliva and whatever is making her cough. Again, I want to stress that everyone in this store is extremely kind and very attentive to the customers. But that does not exclude that one of your employees is putting everyone’s health in danger. I certainly hope that they address this and inform her of what steps she needs to take every single time she coughs into her hand or wipes her nose. Wearing gloves does nothing but keep germs off your hands if you’re coughing into the gloves and not changing them every single time. She was not wearing a mask or glove even though she’s obviously got something going on some sort of sickness but I’m just saying because I have literally seen so many cashiers that are wearing gloves and continue to touch their face, touch their hair, touch money, and your products, and continue like that as if they were doing something about keeping germs from spreading. What a disgusting display of indifference to your customers.
(I urge the dollar tree management team to check their cameras and to use those images for future training of their employees)
