Dollar General in Hattiesburg

Yeah the store is terrible. First of all the have a sign posted on the door saying no large purses or bags can be brought inside. I walked up to the register and asked can I really not bring my bag inside, the child that was on the register looked me up and down like I had 4 heads and said uh no. Okay, and the store is not stocked what so ever. It looks like an apocalypse in there, and that child of a cashier was beyond disrespectful. 0 out of 5 if possible

The employees are very attentive and kind here. They always know where everything is and they have no problem helping when you ask them. They try to know everyone on a first name basis. The store is always clean and they keep it well stocked. Overall good place to stop and great people.

Moved here 4 years ago and this was the dollar general I went to at least every other day! Until tonight it was alright! Tonight upon entering the store the associate stocking shelves made me very uncomfortable and given the way she was acting and following me I was under the impression she believed I was shoplifting!! She went to the cashier and soon after when I was checking out the cashier yells in the store that one of my items was cued .. whatever that means! Needless to say it didn't take a genius to figure out what had just happened!! Never will I shop here again!! I will be calling to file a complaint against this associate!! Oh and I spent in total $75!!!

This DG is horrible. Greatly under staffed! Do not go here for your quick runs! It is NEVER stocked! Just today they are out of Gain Tide or any other Brand name Detergent! Boxes everywhere full of inventory waiting to go on the shelves! For the last 4 months everytime I've went in there for a specific item, it's not on the shelves!!

This is my hometown Dollar General and I frequent it quiet often. Sad thing is, there is always a long line at the check out and rarely enough helpful front to help cover the need. Wait times to check out and the fact that the aisles are so cluttered make this store one of my least favorite to patronize.

Love this Dollar General I literally go everyday lol But I Do Want To Say Lately They Don't Have Anything They Haven't Had Butter N 3 Months And No Cleaning Stuff And It's Ridiculous And They Have A New Lady There Now And She Acts Like Its A Hassle To Check People Out And Huffs And Puffs She A White Lady With Short Hair They Just Need To Get This Store N Order I Used To Really Love This Store But Not To Much Anymore

This story is horrible. I visit Dollar General offen and I have never been there when the isles were not in shambles. They keep all their stock on the floor so most of the time you cant even get down the isle. I have taken pictures several times in disbelief of the way this store is kept.

I visit this Dollar General 3 to 5 times a week every week .I live about a 2 or 3 min drive from it.And for the last year and a half.Ive had a very hard time being able to get what I need for basic house hold cleaning supplies,Laundry Detergent,Pet Food ,Cooking Oil,Suger , Mayonnaise,ketchup,Pickles ,Seasonings,Juice of any brand ,the candy isle stays pretty much bare,cookie isle is always 55% bare ,no cheese products in cooler,no milk hardly ever ,dollar general brand potato chips I've not seen in two full years the Laundry Detergent isle ,automotive isle ,and pet food isle ,all 3 have been and are always 95% bare ,the foodstuff on the $1 isle is and always 95% bare ,the can meet products isle is severely bare stocked daily ,some days there is never any bread ,I've been in this store many diff times a month to purchase specific certain items to make different side dishes for dinner and the shelves will be bare ,cooking oil ,Suger ,flour , corn meal,crisco shortening,olive oil ,any thing pickled,kool-aid,any quart to 2 quart containers of All brands of any flavors fruit juice ,poptarts all brands,Slim Jim products ,Motor oil of any brand ,grade and weight ,and all other engine lubricants ,again Pet Foods all Brands and Pet Needs ,Ice Cream sandwiches , pimento cheese ,personal hygiene razors ,many many many types of sickness and normal medical stuffs on medi isle all I've mentioned last the shelves are 95%-98% bare 7 days a week ,4-weeks a month ,365- days a year.Wnd and yes I've been in this store many times a week and inventory would still be on roll out carry all carts use to store in store merchandise in dollar general over the road carrier /distributor of dollar general merchandise haulers trailers all boxes still wrapped in the fall preventive plastic wrap wrapped around the boxes and the carry all carts will just sit in the same place for days ....I know ever lady that works in this store and each and every one bust their buts all day n night every day or when their on duty ,I've seen these women tired and give out and the weriness hideing just behind their eyes,from being over worked , but even so they are always most helpful, courteous,always ask if I'm finding everything I need okay ,,the problems with this store haveing bare shelves and product inventory sitting in store isles for days isn't any of this stores employees fault at all ,this store has been unstaffed since June of 2020 that's as far back as I can remember their just isn't enough employees to working at this store daily and nightly to get and keep all store products on the shelves ,and this store I've never in my life seen it nasty or dirty so for the reviews you've gotten where someone said this store was dirty or nasty that was people being mean and down right lieing ,,,I've seen only one male employee at this store in two years,but I'm hoping to change that because I'm about to apply for work at this Dollar General Store and see if I can help make a difference with these ladies that are always so nice and willing to go out of their way to help somone and while these ladies handle the front and the registers this a stocker like you've never seen before and I'm gonna get these ladies store shelves stocked so fast and keep them stocked ,because 1 ,I do more shopping and. Grocery buying in this Dollar General Store then any other store on all of Hattiesburg MS,and if I can help make a change in my community and help the ladies who've been kind to me . then wait n watch how fast this stores reviews change and become a Dollar General Store people n Pets can rely on ,that is should you give me employment.On my online application my name is 4- 1st , Middle,Last,suffix these will be my initials on my online application (C.E.L.J.) ,for reference please do not hold the current dollar general employees at this store at fault for the way and shape of the shelves it's also the problem with shortages of products being delivered to this store and that alone is enough to cause bare shelves...

Good luck finding ANYTHING you need. Coffee, nope, creamer, nope, anything frozen nope, completely empty literally. I dont think theyve stocked since maybe October, it's January, seriously have no stock. No water, cat food, snacks, lunch meat, cheese, all these things, NOPE!!!! Pass it up, go to the next one on Hwy 42 to Petal or the other Hwy 42 to Sumerall. I am not BSing, I used to go here everyday, now I will go 10 miles past it just to skip it, even tho its 2 miles from my house.
