My favorite mall here in Anchorage. I don't get how some people can give this a low rating because they consider it "not as good" as the malls down in the Lower 48 or consider it "outdated". Far from it. I just moved back to Alaska after spending 15 years down in the Lower 48 and I can say that this mall has changed dramatically since my childhood in a good way. Yeah sure it's different from what it was 15-20 years ago but, I feel like it's better than ever. Dimond Center is better than what I remember it to be. It was a great place to shop and hang out when I was a kid and it still is. I'm super psyched about the Dave and Busters coming and finally filling that big empty space up on the second floor. That area has always been empty for as long as I can remember. I always have a blast when I come here. I have so many good childhood memories of being at this mall with my parents, grandparents, siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles growing up. It was always such an event coming here once, twice or even three to four times a year as a kid. I'm originally from Valdez and the closest things we had to a mall there was just the few strip malls we had. Now as an adult who now lives here in Anchorage, I'm trying to form new memories when I'm not too busy with my adult responsibilities. Such a great place to shop, hang out, eat good food, watch a movie, go ice skating, bowl, play games at the arcade and soon at Dave and Buster's when they open next year or just walk around the building to get some exercise.
