Unfortunately I have had to drop the Pharmacy rating from a 5 star review to 3 stars as a result of the pharmacists, Val and Ben, leaving. The new staff is trying, they really are, but they just are not up to replacing the former super duo that was Val and Ben. If you are a regular customer and treat the new staff with respect you will have a better experience. You also need to make sure you know exactly what your prescription is for and the formulation as they seem to have difficulty dealing with some written prescriptions. The latest batch of pharmacists and especially the assistants seem to be very reliant on their computer system and not real world experience.
Multiple issues have occurred with the new staff, mostly seem to be a result of a lack of critical thinking and experience. The most problem I encountered is described below. Additionally, this all took place with an assistant as she insisted she handle the situation and not the pharmacist even after asking to speak with the pharmacist multiple times.
I was told a prescribed medication did not exist that I was familiar with and I did know it existed. I was then told I needed a new prescription from the doctor with a different medication name and formulation. After going round and round I realized she was making an assumption that the prescription was written incorrectly by the doctor so she was looking up a different medication named almost identically to the prescribed medication. Upon realizing her mistake I had still had to find the information myself to prove it to her. Upon getting the information to prove what was prescribed existed, she still seemed skeptical of my explanation that she was looking up a different medication than what was prescribed, she was confident in her assumptions. Anyway, she did finally look up exactly what I asked her to, as if to prove me wrong, and low and behold it was in their system as prescribed.
In a nutshell, she made figure out what she was doing wrong and then prove to her that I was correct and she had indeed made a mistake. All of this was because she entered information based on an assumption and what her pharmacists told her rather than what was written on the prescription. In total this took 3 days to correct, multiple phone calls, a visit to the pharmacy and quite a few hours of my personal time.
My previous 5 Star review - Wonderful pharmacists, Val and Ben. Their staff is great too. Speaking purely to my experience with the pharmacy side of the CVS.
