My husband has not been able to get his Rx Mounjaro consistently for months, the staff at CVS have blamed it on the customers who are getting it for weight loss, paying the $1,000+ a month. 4/1/24 My husband was dispensed a 30-day supply if Mounjaro, he paid a 90-day co-pay & our insurance was billed for a 90-day supply. When he returned 4/28/24 to get the remaining 60 days, he was initially told he was already given all 90 days & after much back & forth, the tech finally reviewed whatever they needed to review & said "Oh I guess you only got 30 days worth." Then proceeded to tell my husband they were out but would get a shipment on 4/29/24 & she would set aside the remaining 60 days for him. She did not. I called on 4/30/24 to inquire if I could p/u the Rx, the staff member said they didn't have the shipment, he can't even order more, & basically said the supplies are going to the customers paying cash & using it for weight loss. He told me to have my husband's doctor call everyday & inquire as to what diabetes medications they have on their shelves & order it right then & there in order to MAYBE get the Rx filled. This is a completely unrealistic solution & a complete waste of the doctor's time. Late afternoon on 4/30/24, my husband called to inquire when the next shipment was expected, spoke with a different staff member who suggested he have his doctor up the dosage for the Mounjaro as they had a higher dose in stock. My husband was able to get through to his doctor's office before they closed and put in the request for a higher dose & they sent in the new Rx. On 5/1/24, my husband called the pharmacy at 0915 to inquire if they received the updated Rx, which they had, but there was no med on the shelf to fill the Rx- all sold out again, they were supposedly getting another shipment 5/2/24. Again the cash paying weight loss customers were to blame. Can CVS prioritize customers with a true medical need for a Rx with such a high demand over those paying cash? It seems that CVS is putting profit before people. Normally I would just take my business elsewhere, but I can't. My husband is self-employed and relies on my insurance which is contracted with CVS for Rx coverage- so we are basically stuck getting our meds through you.
