Review for City Motors of PhiladelphiaI recently had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with City Motors of Philadelphia. I purchased a 2018 Jeep Compass from them, and the entire process has been a nightmare. Here are the key issues I encountered, all of which I have evidence to support:Registration Issues: The dealership failed to properly register my vehicle. After three months, I discovered they had confused my purchase with another customer who coincidentally has the same name as me, according to the new title clerk, Janette. This mistake has left me driving a vehicle that isn’t legally registered to me.Title Problems: Despite not signing the title, the dealership claimed they would file an extension and get the title registered in my name. This has raised serious concerns about potential forgery of my signature.Unethical Behavior: The dealership charged me $250 for GAP coverage, even though I explicitly told them I didn’t need it because I was already covered by my bank. They lied about the paperwork being correct, which was later confirmed by my loan officer as an overcharge. Furthermore, I had issues with my AC, and the dealer promised to have it fixed if I purchased the vehicle. This promise was never fulfilled.Poor Communication and Dishonesty: Throughout this ordeal, the dealership’s communication has been extremely poor. Promises to get back to me were rarely fulfilled. The title clerk, Janette, confidently lied to me about filing my deal away because she mistakenly thought it was completed for another person with my name. This happened despite me providing my VIN number to precisely identify my paperwork. Janette only became helpful after I pointed out their mistakes.Cashing My Check: The dealership cashed my check but never processed the paperwork, leaving me in a legal and financial limbo. Both my bank and the DMV confirmed that neither have received the title nor is the vehicle registered.Brother’s Experience: My brother also purchased a car from this dealership and faced similar issues. He was unable to register his vehicle because he was told he did not pay state taxes, even though he had paid them at the time of purchase.Initially, I was asked by dealer Nathan Kreigler and his assistant Melisa to write an amazing review, which I did. However, as soon as this mess unraveled, I feel it’s time to recant my good review and let the public know what’s really going on with this business. Both Nathan Kreigler and Melisa were fired for being unethical, with a sign left on their door stating that Nathan Kreigler was specifically banned from the property for embezzlement of funds, theft, and assault against the owner.I am sure there are plenty of people with the same distasteful experience but more than likely have not come forward as I have through a review. This experience has been incredibly stressful and has caused me significant inconvenience and financial strain. I strongly advise against doing business with City Motors of Philadelphia due to their lack of professionalism and unethical practices.Due to ongoing legal talks, I won't be mentioning any more details, but I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I will take it up to the Attorney General until this matter gets resolved.Lack of Response from the Owner: The finance guy, Paul, has been answering phone calls on behalf of the owner, Nasser al Khatib. We have asked to speak to Mr. al Khatib , but he still has not contacted us back.
