The Only place we go to ! we own trucking company and need spare keys made they are the best in CA they tell you find the key code you can call any Delaer according to your vehicle manufacturer they’ll give it to you or charge a small fee take the code and bring it to them they’ll have you out the door with your new key in a fews mins and quadruple less the price places charging $350 you’ll pay not even quarter of that God bless Buena Park Lock and Key

My previous vehicle key fell a part and I bought 2 uncut key fobs from Amazon and transferred the chip. Went to Buena Park Lock & Key Shop to get it cut. They did a fantastic job and the cut came out perfect. The customer service was great and the craftsmanship was topnotch. I have had a bad experience with a previous key smith. I'm writing this review a month later and the key works perfect still. I have saved over $300 by getting the car key fob online and getting it cut instead of going to Toyota to do the same. I have found my reliable lock & key smith! 😀

I have a remote keyless entry to my car (Toyota Prius C) that had a blank spare emergency key. Doug (key maker) had it made for me in less than one minute. And I was told a reasonable price and that there is no guarantee. I said yes, and handed him the spare and original. There were no-nonsense, or hassle. Just straight business. As I walked out with my new spare key, I thought maybe the new key will not work. But it did, I walked back to the store to let Doug know. Good experience overall, highly recommended.
Please note a lot of review mention there is "no guarantee", this is because it's a customer spare, and the shop doesn't have those spares sitting around, it becomes a problem for them to replace it. Anyways it was clearly posted on the wall.

Went to ace hardware and their machine couldn't recognize my apartment key. Brought it here and Doug found a perfect substitute and made me 2 copies within 5 minutes, and they both work perfectly!

I just happened upon this place on Beach Bl, and I will NEVER go to another place again.
I have yet to bring a key to this man that he cannot duplicate within about 3 minutes.
I don't know what I'm going to do when he retires.
He is the Key Master!

The owner (I believe Doug) did a great and quick job cutting my car key from a spare I brought in when other places, which rely on preprogrammed blanks and a machine, were not able to. He was able to use his knowledge to determine whether the blank I was using would work and checked with me to see if it worked after he cut it. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. There is a reason he's been in business for more than 60+ years.
To those who do not bother reading signs when entering, the place clearly states no guarantees like a majority of businesses. Keys are unique, especially if you bring one in. He does not have control beyond what he can provide for his services, just like if you bring your own parts to a mechanic.

As others mentioned, if you bring your own blank key there is no guarantee. Doug cut two spare keys for my 2000 Subaru from the shop's blanks and had me make sure they worked before I left (they work perfectly.) In and out in 10 minutes at a completely reasonable price. Doug also cut keys for a 2017 Toyota with blanks I brought in last year, "no guarantee," and they worked great after I programmed them at home. Some other reviewers say this is an "old school" or "no BS" place, either in a negative or positive way; I'll just say that it's true and all boils down to how you perceive that style of business for you...the place smells like a cigarette butt sometimes but that's a tradeoff I'm willing to make.

A nice old-fashioned place to get your keys copied. Parking is on the street. You can call ahead to ask for hours and pricing (they don't accept cards unless it's a minimum $10 purchase).

Everyone has gone mobile working out of their vans and because of it 65 dollars for the same type of work I got here for 25 dollars, it's a no brainer. Great service, great prices and a nostalgic walk down memory lane when key Smiths actually had a store you can walk into. Oh and if your looking for an old type of lock or safe they will proubly have it.
