After I wore it a few times, I realized it was way too big. Thus I went back about a month after the purchase to discuss replacing the earring and also a possible additional purchase. At that time, I explained the issue with the earring to Susan (the Manager), and was told I could exchange the earring anytime.
The next day I returned to the store and brought my father to look at the piece I was interested in purchasing as well as to return the earring. That day, it turned out that the piece I was interested in purchasing wasn't in the store, but it would return and I could purchase the item when it was back in the store. However, in the meantime I wanted to exchange the earring as we had discussed a few days prior.
At that point, perhaps because the necklace was not available to purchase, to my shock and dismay, Susan became very hostile, first trying to convince me that I had not purchased the earring at Broken English. After I proved that I had indeed purchased the earring thereby showing her the receipt, Susan denied the promise she made just a few days earlier that I could exchange the too large earring I had purchased on the advice of store employees.
Susan gave me the number of the owner. I attempted to contact her via the contact number Susan gave me but received no response. Needless to say, my family will be taking our business elsewhere. It is truly a shame because for a long time, I very much liked shopping at Broken English, and had thought it to be a trendy store with lovely pieces.
If you are expecting prime customer service (as you should) for being a client, spending significant amounts of money, and spreading the word about the store, then do not come to Broken English.
