It should have been shut down years ago, but the laws are not strong enough to protect birds from this kind of horror.
I see below that the owner, Jayne, stated: "I have had Bird Exchange for 38 years and have never been turned into the BBB or any other agency for any thing bad." Well that is absolute LIE. I have reported her NUMEROUS times to Sonoma County Animal Control. Sadly, as one of their officers explained to me, even though the place is horrible, the laws are not specific enough to allow them to shut this hell-hole down. Jayne is the most self-serving, greedy person to make money for that big house she lives in from the lives of these neglected birds that kept in filth, fed crappy seeds and allowed to have dirty water in their cages. I have seen injured birds, I have seen cockatiels crowded in a tiny cage where there's no where to go but stand next to each other on a single perch and where you can see the feces build up below on the floor because she gives them nothing but WIRE on the bottom of the cage. That place isn't save for HUMANS to breath the air and birds have a much more sensitive respiratory system than humans do. Jayne has also sold unweaned baby birds which is against the law in California.
Jayne you can get all your friends to write you good reviews, but those of us who actually know and care about birds, will never change our opinion of you and your disgusting ways. Shame on you!!!!
