Did quite a bit of research and thought I knew everything I needed to know. Well, after chatting online with someone, they or everything in my online shopping cart. When comparing BB's quote with the SAME EXACT unit from Crutchfield, I realized how much Best Buy marked up the accessories (dash kit, wiring harnesses, etc...) Best Buy was OVER $200 more, which was the markup on JUST the accessories as the into was on sale and price was the same as Crutchfield's. Went to go schedule BB to only install, and they said their policy is to require using the Maestro dash kit and wiring harness kit, so it would be sure to fit. I explained I already purchased everything I needed and ONLY needed them to do the installation. The rude employee "helping" me was condescending when he told me I was "required" to purchase the Maestro dash kit and accessories from them with the RIDICULOUS markup they apply to them. Ended up walking out and now have an appointment with Car Tunes, LLC right down the road from them tomorrow. Saving almost $200 having exact same unit installed. I don't think I'll ever purchase anything car audio from BB again after this experience. I understand it's a business, but having the dash kit and accessories almost DOUBLE the price of Crutchfield and them saying I'm "REQUIRED" to purchase it from them with the crazy markup to me, is just.... CRAZY! 🤪 I'd rather support a small business with my 💰!
