The existing fixtures were on walls that could not be accessed from the back so tile was removed from the front wall of both areas to remove the existing fixtures and replace with more modern updated systems that included body sprays, an overhead rain-shower and a shower wand. A friend told me to visit Diane at the Artwork Tile and Flooring Source, located at 26109 S. Western Avenue in Lomita as the shop was a source of older tiles that you could match up with your existing tiles.
Visiting Diane, the owner, at the store, we couldn't quite match the existing tile but she led us to several styles that blended with our existing color and we chose a style that actually modernized the look of our existing tile walls and stayed within the existing color scheme.
Diane was able to order the tile, the special thin set, and the tile grout, and get it to her shop for pickup the next day and at a very reasonable price.Her guidance saved me several hundred dollars and several days of repair and retile because of not tearing out several square feet of tile on the walls and tub deck and as mentioned we updated the appearance of the tiled walls in the process when we were finished..
Diane is such a friendly lady who is very knowledgeable in the different styles of tile and very competent in suggestions as to what might work for you and what will look outstanding. She has a whole shop of styles to look at and consider. You should give her and her shop a look and see if she can assist you in the manner she assisted us.
