I’ve met Dale and Joe about 9 years ago and I’ve seen them grow in the barber space and become an important part of the community in Belmont/ San Mateo. I know it probably sounds corny but they aren’t just barbers, they are artists who do this day in and day out.
The new location is great and the remodel of the space definitely gives it a welcoming atmosphere. The team at 44 Palms offers a diverse range of barbers with unique styles. I usually go for the works but you have a variety of services you can choose from. Definitely book online, it’s a pain free process to book an appointment. All I can say is I’m excited to see this team grow, you can’t go wrong with any of them!

My 16yo was finally ready to cut his hair and we found Leon at the San Mateo location! We showed him a picture of what he wanted and Leon got to it He did such an amazing job. Exactly what we were looking for!! Professional, kind, and a warm smile. I was nervous because this was a huge step for my son. Leon’s confidence showed and my son felt at ease. Pictures were welcomed. It was a really good price and product available that he used on his hair. My son is thrilled, I’m super happy and we found his new haircut guy!!

I have been going to 44 Palms Barber for over two years now, and I can confidently say it's one of the best barber shops around. The place is immaculate, and the attention to detail is outstanding. All the barbers do excellent work and truly understand what the client is looking for. I've been getting my haircut from Juan, and he always hits the mark perfectly. Additionally, they provide coffee, sodas, water, and snacks, making the wait a pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

I had been searching for a long time for a great barber shop, and I can confidently say that 44 Palms Barber Shop is by far the best in the area. From the moment you walk in, the shop is incredibly welcoming — you immediately feel like part of the community.
Dale, and the entire team are true professionals who clearly take great pride in their craft. Their attention to detail really shows in the results. My son and I both go here now and we’re constantly getting compliments on our cuts wherever we go.
It’s rare to find a place that combines such a friendly, laid-back environment with this level of skill and consistency. 44 Palms nails it every time. Couldn’t recommend them enough — if you’re looking for a new barber, this is the spot.

I’ve been coming to 44 Palm Barber Shop for a while now, and it’s easily the best shop in the area. Dale, the owner, sets the tone—he runs a clean, professional, and welcoming place where the barbers clearly take pride in their craft.
My go-to barber is Jose. He’s got years of experience and it shows. He takes the time to get to know me, understands my preferences, and always works with the fact that I have thinner hair. That extra attention makes all the difference. The cuts are consistent, sharp, and he never rushes through. It feels like he’s invested in making sure I walk out looking my best every time.
If you’re looking for a shop where the atmosphere is great and the barbers actually care about their work, this is the spot. Dale runs it right, and Jose is the guy to see.

My barber’s Riley at 44 Palms and he’s the best barber I have ever had. Never have to worry whether he’s gonna do a bad job because he’s the goat. Just sit down and he gets me right every time. Would highly recommend.

Hand downs the best barbershop in the 605 and trust me I’ve been to plenty. Dale and his crew are great I highly recommend this spacious, clean, and modern barbershop. Kid/family friendly and just overall a great environment.
