I can't continue to support this store anymore. Prime example of "You get what you pay for". I've been coming here since 2012 and it has gone a bit downhill since 2016/2017 and it's pretty much at the point now where I don't risk buying live fish here, just dry goods. The fish are cheap for a reason. Fish health/quality is pretty hit or miss and there has been a bit more "miss" in the last few years. I wouldn't recommend buying fish from here if you don't have a quarantine tank. Even with the fish I've bought here that did survive, their colors were never the most vibrant compared to fish from other stores (roseline sharks for $7 each when most places sell them for $12-$15 ? There's a reason for that.. CHEAP QUALITY). “No guarantee” written on a sign in the window is the first red flag. That directly translates to “We know a lot of our fish are sick but we won’t do anything about it if they die on you.” ! My last straw with buying live fish here was in early 2023 when I saw that they had a bunch of 4 inch roseline sharks for only $25 each (they'd normally go for $35-$40 at that size) and I got a bunch of them. They ALL died ! Started off with like 5, a couple died, got a few more, then a few more died, got a few more, then the rest died. After a couple weeks, they all died. I don't know what they had but one of them had clear signs of hemorrhagic septicemia. I tested all of my water parameters and everything was good, which didn't surprised me because my bala sharks, pleco, tetras, and gouramis were perfectly fine. It was only the roselines that were dying left and right. Right after the last one died, I got a bunch of them from a couple different fish stores and surprise, surprise ! Not a single one of the new ones from the other fish stores have died since and it has been just over a year. Much more vibrant colors too. Since then, I've ONLY come to this store here and there for fish food since they're cheaper than most and on the way home from most of my friends' houses. As for live fish, I'll gladly drive an extra 20 minutes to Reef Tropical Fish in Anaheim or 45 minutes to CK Fish World in West Covina and pay more money for quality fish.
