If I could rate them less I would. In a rush to pull together an outfil for western themed event, I stopped to buy a cowboy hat. One fit the bill…black, at least I assumed it was despite it being covered in dust and lint. It had no price on it but an asst. mgr. Was able to check it for me. $69.95!! I attempted to bargain it down to a more reasonable price considering the condition it was in. I was against the wall so I bought it…for $59.95. Brought it home and worked some magic and it looked almost like new…or at least better that it did at purchase. Unfortunately had to cancel on the event at the last minute so I made my way back to the store to return the hat. Suddenly there is a “no return” policy, in spite of my purchase being less than 24hr old, and the asst. mgr. that helped me urging to keep the tag on it in case I wished to return it. I was prepared to present the receipt as well, but was shot down again. Okay, trying to remain calm I asked about a buy back. The kid behind the counter made a great offer…and by great I mean insulting!! $16!!! For a hat that I had to bring home, steam and brush the hell out of to make it presentable! I tossed the hat to them, adding a well placed expletive to the unconcerned sales staff, and walked out. What a fleecing!
I feel completely swindled, and having a background in PR and marketing I know the power of a bad review; it only takes one. I intend to let the whole world know about this sham of a “thrift” store. Thrift my ass…theirs but no one else’s. Shoddy way to treat customers
