1st Sewing Center is the BEST store in the Twin Cities area! They have been so helpful with all 3 machines I have bought from them, and are always willing to assist me with any questions or issues.
During the early part of COVID, I bought a Juki 350QVP long arm quilting machine (including the QCT5 Pro software for automated quilting). The installation of the frame and machine was done quickly and once the robotic software was delivered, they immediately contacted me to come back and add on the machine.
I have also bought a used (someone traded in) Juki TL2020PE domestic sewing machine. This silver anniversary machine is AMAZING! When I wintered down south last year, I had an issue with the computer board. I brought the machine in and the team looked it over and determined it needed to go to Juki to be fixed.
During the time the machine was in Miami at Juki, the Juki facility moved and it took a bit longer than expected for return. During that timeframe, Bruce offered to let me use another TL2018 machine, if I wanted.
Once my machine came back, Bruce and the staff at the store made sure it was sewing a beautiful stitch! Juki had even replaced the broken 2nd spool pin (even though the spool pin was not noted as an issue, I bought it with only 1 spool pin, and the store staff pointed that out to me as part of the sale).
The third machine I bought from 1st Sewing was another trade in, this time I bought someone's used serger. The owner of 1st Sewing gave me a screaming deal on it and even though it was a machine brand the store does not carry, I have brought it into the store to have the staff assist me with issues if the stitches do not appear correct.
I appreciate that the staff has been so willing to assist me with any questions regarding what I would call 3 totally different levels...serger, domestic sewing and long arm (basically a REALLY BIG) sewing machine! I have had the staff there explain functionality on the long arm and the software.
The Juki 350QVP was a MAJOR monetary investment, and anytime I don't understand something about it, there are several people who are willing to assist me with questions.
1st Sewing has the what I would consider the best embroidery department, machines, education and staff here in Minneapolis/St. Paul. I have yet to dive into either a machine which does embroidery, or the Juki dedicated embroidery machines. When I do, I know where I'll be going...1st Sewing!
Without a doubt, 1st Sewing Center is MY GO TO store for sewing and sewing supplies. The new store location (just down from TJ Maxx in the Southtown Shopping Center area) is bright, well laid out, with ample space now for education. Their education staff is so well versed in all facets of sewing from domestic to sergers to long arms and then the home and small business options for embroidery.
I cannot stress enough that this is THE STORE you want to go to when you are looking for a machine, regardless of the type of sewing you are interested in pursuing. I have NEVER had a bad experience with 1st Sewing! If I did, I am confident the owners (Bruce and Liz) would be ALL OVER resolving whatever issue I may have felt I had, but I don't know how it could happen, the store, owners and staff are second to none and in a word...AWESOME!
