When purchasing multiple policies, this agency was actually very responsive, personable and extremely good at selling. However when I needed them the most after Hurricane Milton they completely left me out to dry. I put in a claim due to major damage from the hurricane and this agency was as shocked as I was that my policy was non renewed due to electrical panel pictures not being sent in 5 months prior. You are my insurance agent. You are supposed to know these things! They had the audacity to blame it on their own insurance carrier Citizens not sending them any notices like they are supposed to. This agency not receiving notices from their own carrier partners is not my problem.
Here’s the worst part, I personally received this non renewal notice 5 months ago and immediately texted Vic, the owner on his cell phone. He replied that they are taking care of it and not to worry - see pictures of screenshots with this agency owner himself. I was also adamant that as my agent, I need to be aware if my policy is going to non renew in advance and he stated of course, that’s what we are here for.
5 months later my policy was non renewed on Sept 29 without me knowing (less than 2 weeks before Hurricane Milton Hit) and they took no responsibility. They blamed it on the carrier and the electrician. Their excuse was that the electrician didn’t send pictures of the electrical panel requested 5 months ago! I never got a notice after that and they also stated that they never received a notice either from Citizens. They even attempted to blame the electrician and recommended that I go after them - see 3rd photo with their response.
Be very weary of this agency to be there for you when you need them the most. They left me with $100k+ in damages and would not help with one dollar. Vic from State Farm was not a “good neighbor” and was not there for us when we needed them the most!
Next Step is the BBB, Department of Insurance, legal and our local media relationships. I will be committing an unlimited amount of resources time and energy to this matter out of principle. I am in this business and its agents like this that give all of us a bad name. They will not get away with this.
