I did not have a good experience with the TLE in Oceanside.I initially liked their facility because of the hours of care that they offered. After I paid the fees and was approved, I was told the hours were not those listed on the website which was a problem for me due to the hours I worked, they were open an hour later than advertised and closed an hour earlier than advertised.I informed them before submitting the application I would be submitting assistance with the Child Care Aware for Military families and would need them to do their portion upon my approval. When I submitted my application, I once again reminded them of the CCA, and they told me that the person at the facility that was in charge of it would be handling all the applications. I got accepted at the TLE and authorized my payments for the 1st and 15th of the month on the authorization form they require as well as restated it in the email. during the first month of my son's attendance, I had problems with the staff at the TLE. The CCA application handler was not responding to the CCA organization for my application and the director, Evelyn Harper is very rude. VERY unprofessional. Every interaction I had with her; I received an attitude. There was a problem with them trying to take one full payment out of my account when they were authorized by my bank and per my authorization form to take only half out bi-weekly and she called me, with attitude to fix my payment method and demanded I pay the 70 dollar late fee. I informed her that I didn't need to fix my method that she needed to only pull-out half, again with attitude she told me I couldn't do that because I needed to have put that on my authorization form, and I informed her that I have already done that, and I would re send the email if need be. I asked her to look into my account to confirm and she hung up on me. She called me back and told me she saw my file and would accept it this one time? Also, whenever I would approach the director with questions or concerns, I would always get attitude and most recently she blamed my son for not being able to speak properly when asked why the incident report was not written on the day it happened. There were multiple occasions where my son would come back with cuts or scrapes and no incident reports. I give the two-star rating ONLY because the teachers are amazing in the facility but the staff outside of the classrooms are awful and lack communication with each other. Multiple times I was told one thing by one of the staff members then was told by the teachers the opposite. For instance, my son cannot drink 2% milk and asked the assistant director I believe is her title, if I could provide his milk so he has something to drink during lunch time and I was told that I could. I saw that he was not being given his milk on the app and asked the teachers why this was, and I was informed by the teachers that I was not allowed to bring outside beverages and they were not legally allowed to give the milk I brought to my son. Also, I had given the 6 weeks' notice to the facility of my son's withdrawal (as required per their initial paperwork) and never received an acknowledgement from the director, or any staff. When I called to confirm his end date 4 weeks later, nothing was ever annotated in his file and a payment was pending to be withdrawn from my account, although I did it via email as they directed per their SOP of withdrawal.Overall, I have had many problems with the staff of this facility and would not recommend their facility, but I did appreciate the teachers and the care they gave to my son.
