A few months ago, I would have given this daycare 5 stars. We absolutely loved this daycare at one point. Around February 2024 is when my daughter (3 years old) at the time started to have increasingly difficult behaviors. The daycare did not inform me for a couple of weeks that she was being sent to the office 2-3X per day. My daughter was struggling to listen and follow directions, which escalated to her hit because she was frustrated and probably needed more patience from staff to help her regulate her emotions. I scheduled my daughter to be assessed for any behavioral issues through the school district. My daughters results did not indicate any behavioral concerns. My thought is that the daycare staff were not being patient with her at all and just sending her to the office right away. Around March, we were able to discuss concerns with the daycare and come up with plans to address behaviors. The behaviors were seemingly better up until the end of April 2024. At the end of April 2024, the long-term director left. The day that the director quit, many staff called in sick and/or quit. I do not have concrete evidence saying how many staff truly quit after the director left but through rumors, 10 staff quit (not sure if that's true or not). The center only communicated that the director quit for personal reasons but never communicated any staff changes outside of that. It was obvious that there were a lot of staff changes because there were all of a sudden many new teachers/staff. Around this time, my daughter (now 4 years old) started struggling to follow directions, hitting, and being sent to the office. At this time, we made the decision to put in our two week notice and find new childcare. Over the last two weeks, there have been several days where the preschool room was significantly out of ratio (1 staff to 23 preschoolers was what it was one morning).. there were also several days where there was (1 staff in the preschool classroom, with the correct amount of preschoolers, but the teacher had a one year old in the classroom, automatically making them out of ratio). There are several mornings when 2 or 3 staff are waiting to clock in for the day - they are told to wait to clock in until the absolutely need to clock in because the daycare probably doesn't want to pay them overtime - this is again my personal assumption but it's frustrating for the amount people pay for childcare, that they don't allow staff to clock in right away in the morning, even though they are obviously way out of ratio in the classrooms).I recommend that everyone check out the department of health's website - childcare licensing. You can see complaints that have been filed against daycares. 2 compliance officers were at the daycare yesterday (5/21/24) due to the amount of recent complaints parents have made towards this daycare. The most recent complaint is not on their departments website yet.. but there are past complaints regarding ratio issues. The daycare curriculum is great and the facility is nice.. but the staffing issues were significantly impacting my daughter, so unfortunately this daycare was not a good fit for us. It was great for about 1.5 years of us being there.. but now I would not recommend sending your child here.
