This salon popped up on my TikTok right when I was recovering from a recent bad salon visit (another salon). My hair was bleached underneath with dark on top for a cool underlight/color-block effect.
However, the other salon left my hair with bands of yellow and brassy color that was not an all around level lift. I contacted Colour Room’s text line for an appointment. They have a survey they require to complete before booking.
This is for YOUR benefit. It asks if you have had box color (don’t lie), if you have thick or thin hair, when you last bleached, and a few other questions to make sure the salon can help you. Seriously, kudos to this salon for asking for this information and also current hair photos and inspo photos. This helps so much in the long run so you aren’t wasting your time or the salons by coming in and being told if your hair goals are feasible.
I was asked to come in for a consult with Caroline, (my future hair savior), the next day. She was realistic with me as my hair was previously bleached that she couldn’t go white with it because she wanted to make sure my hair wasn’t going to break and kept its integrity. She said we could lift the brassy yellow/gold and tone it to a light blonde but not pure white. Which, fair I don’t want melted hair and I just wanted my underlight/colorblock to be one color lol
She was able to get all the brassy out, gave me some long layers to let the light color underneath peak out, and made sure to give me my normal hair part during the styling.
Suffice to say I am in love and the price was in range for a consultation, test strand, fixing what was previously done, bleach, color, toner, and the haircut.
Highly recommend if you want people that care about being transparent and honest with you so you are on the same page about what your specific hair type is capable of while maintaining its integrity.
