We stayed in Siebert properties twice in the past with pleasent experiences. 5 years ago, we stayed in Atta Buoy. It was really nice, newly renovated, enjoyed family and celebrating my daughter’s baptism. She’s 5 now and we returned to Atta Buoy to celebrate my husband’s retirement. We checked in to a dirty home. The dining table was full of crumbs and there was a sticky substance on the dryer. The next morning after walking around barefoot for an hour, my children’s feet were black. At 9am I called to report that and the hot tub issue. Due to a storm the night before the hot tub cover was blown off and we were unable to get it back on. The hot tub water was green and there were bugs everywhere. I was told maintenance and housekeeping would be there promptly. We returned 7.5 hours later to the hot tub status unchanged and the ground level floor still appearing dirty. I called to report as about three hot tub and was told someone would be there right away. Spoiler alert: no one came. There was no service recovery, no one apologized, they basically told me lies. Despite reporting maintenance was coming, they later said it was handled by a 3rd party company and Siebert has no control of when they will come. So, I was lied to. Either the people telling me they were coming twice lied or the 3rd party was an excuse or uninformed person. Regardless, I told them it felt we paid too much for the experience and should be compensated in some way. The response was “no refunds, it says so in the lease” and they Atta Buoy is a lovely home. I told them it was a lovely home, years ago but hasn’t been properly maintained. It needs new or deep cleaned furniture, paint, maintenance. They asked me to send them pics, so I did. The following morning Siebert maintenance, not a 3rd party, came to repair the hot tub. My husband had cleaned the bugs and covered it, but the water was still green 🤢 it never got up to temp, because it takes 24 hours and we checked out the next day. I was told old Siebert would ask the owner about refunding some of the money and they would get back to me, but they never did. I asked why the owner would have to refund me when my issues were with the property management company & they said it’s because the lease is between guests and owners. I’m sure when they spoke to the owner they didn’t discuss the reasons I was not satisfied, and probably highlighted my response to it being “lovely” that it needs maintenance.
I will never lease with Siebert again. I’d rather give my hard earned money to a place that is trustworthy, keeps clean homes and cares about guests.
