BACKSTORY: I have been natural since April 2011, but have unfortunately experienced the misfortune of putting my hair into the hands of the WRONG “natural hairstylists” one too many times. The way my hair grows, my hair should be hanging all the way down my back. However, due to heat damage by the hands of bad hairstylists (I don’t put heat on my hair outside of hair appointments), my 4c hair would end up burned/permanently damaged due to lack of heat protecting products and/or taking too many passes through my hair with a straightener. I only wear my hair in it’s curly state (fro, twist outs, etc.) so the shrinkage makes it extremely obvious if my hair has been damaged. At best, the damaged hair is a different curl pattern, and at worst, it just stays completely straight while the rest of my hair is in fro status.
I DIDN'T EXPERIENCE ANY EXPERIENCE ANY HEAT DAMAGE WITH KEIODA! It’s been 10 years of struggle trying to find someone who could not only cut/trim my hair correctly but also not leave me with sections of heat damage I had to cut out myself!
ON TOP OF THAT, she was on time, her salon was clean (she was also very clean and disinfecting every surface due to the pandemic, so I was very comfortable with her in light of COVID-19), she was very informative with explaining her process (she addressed all of my questions and concerns), and she provided a calming, spa-like environment/experience.
As aforementioned, I will continue to travel from out of town to have Keioda lay her magic hands on my hair and bless me with a trauma-free hair silkening and hair trimming experience. I can’t recommend her enough (well...unless you’re someone who likes keeping damaged hair for the sake of “length”...she’s not for you lol)!
