I've been coming here, bringing family, & referring friends for 10 years.....but sadly today will be my last time doing business with Renaissance Day Spa and Alternative Wellness. In all the years I've brought friends & family to get serviced, I was able to accompany them up until they got their massage. Well today I brought my boyfriend (1st time) and I was escorted up with him as I usually have been....but then another young girl comes up tries to get me to purchase services and instead of giving me a chance to speak to my boyfriend because he was changing about additional services being added (because we had other things planned) she then tells me that since I'm not getting a service that I can't sit with him. No escorting me & or showing me to a waiting area or nothing! I make sure he's good & as I'm coming down the stairs....to my surprise, what do I hear? Me being the topic of discussion because I didn't give a definite answer to getting a add on service. So I had to sit in my car & wait on my boyfriend to get serviced. Had I knew we could leave & go somewhere else & get serviced, I would have left & not spent my hard earned money here today. Her approach was what really made me feel some way...not to mention she was loudly talking about me in the reception area as I came down the stairs. When I booked my boyfriends massage....I told them that I would possibly get a pedicure if they had an opening the day of. But for me to spend my hard earned money in a establishment that handles me this way.....ABSOLUTELY NOT! I've been in this industry of customer service for over 17 years & the one young lady today was very unprofessional today. I understand that the goal is ultimately to try & upsale services & products, but there is a decent & orderly way to do that. Then furthermore, if someone is treating someone or doing it as a gift, you check to see a budget before trying to add extra things....its another thing to upsale to an individual that made their own appointment. I just feel like overall now it's about the dollar & I don't like that. Had it not been for me, he wouldn't have even known about this place & the same goes for my family & friend that were patronizing the business. But on another note, he did enjoy his massage & the therapist was tipped!*****On another note......I will update & say that I was contacted by the owner (4/5/2024). I truly appreciate & respect the fact that I was contacted/followed up on regarding my experience. As with any job, you can train your workers your expectation of excellent customer service, but its on them to execute it.
