I HAVE NEVER CALLED 911 BEFORE DEALING WITH THIS NIGHTMARE OF A REPAIR SHOP.
At first, everything seemed great. I brought in my projector earlier this year, and the owner fixed it quickly for a fair price. He was friendly, responsive, and didn’t charge a diagnostics fee, so when my laptop needed a repair, I trusted him again. That was a huge mistake.
My laptop had an issue where the screen would shut off if I opened it more than 30 degrees. He told me it was an easy fix and would be ready in 72 hours. A week went by—nothing. In the meantime, I accidentally broke my projector (through no fault of his) and brought it back, asking him to confirm the cost before doing any work. After that, everything changed.
Suddenly, getting any information out of him became a chore. Every time I called—once a week, since he never reached out first—he gave me the same vague excuse: the wrong part arrived, he wasn’t done yet, he’d let me know soon. This happened three times, and then he vanished completely.
For three weeks, he ignored my calls, texts, and emails. I messaged him daily with no response. I finally went to his office on the 11th floor of the Wyndham Hotel, knocked on the door, and heard voices inside—but no one answered. I called his number while standing outside and heard a phone ding inside the room. He still refused to open the door.
That was when I went to the police. They told me to call 911. Yes, I had to call 911 just to get my own property back. Two officers went upstairs, and suddenly, the same guy who had ignored me for weeks magically opened the door for them. When they brought me up, I found both my projector and laptop completely disassembled. He asked me to come back the next day.
I returned, got a refund, and got my equipment back—but now my laptop screen doesn’t work at all. I messaged him about it, and of course, he’s ignoring me again.
This guy is a scam artist. He will take your device, string you along with excuses, and disappear. And when he finally returns it? There’s a good chance it’ll be in worse shape than when you left it. Do not trust this shop with anything you care about.
