I am a 20 year breast cancer survivor with 7 surgery's occurring in my chest area. This has created lots of scar tissue which has tightened over the years causing me pain and impeding my movements. I experience recurring knots in between my shoulders, stretch frequently but also go to a chiropractor regularly and have had a lot of massages in the last 2 decades. In the past couple of years I've experienced an extreme tightening in my left shoulder, which I initially feared was going to require surgery for rotator cuff issues. I was in a lot of pain, experiencing a loss of strength and frequent popping in my left shoulder.
Then I was referred to Mechelle. We discussed my issues and desire for a more physical therapy style deep tissue massage... and she suggested cupping..... the rest is PAIN FREE HISTORY!
My first massage was 90 minutes deep tissue with cupping, which I had never had. She fully explained the benefits of this style of treatment in conjunction with a more traditional massage. MIND BLOWN! I immediately was PAIN FREE. The increased blood flow brought to the area immediately relieved my pain, the tightness and my lack of strength. I was fully back to normal! I have not experienced any knots in my back since this treatment.
Over a period of weeks my body is of course trying to slip back into the position it's moved to over the course of 2 decades. So, we've worked out a plan for regular treatments to help my shoulder and torso muscles heal, naturally, without surgery. After 2 months of the Covid shutdown I was able to return for my 2nd treatment, gratefully, as the tightness was returning. And once again, she remedied my ailments.
