Stopped for a mani/polish change on my natural nails while traveling for business. I was able to walk in around noon on a Tuesday, they were welcoming and things looked/smelled clean. I picked out my polish, sat down. The tech immediately diluted the polish, this makes me wonder if it was old. She began aggressively filing my nails with a coarse emery board. I asked her to not change the shape or length, but she continued sawing back and forth. When I washed my hands, I saw that she had both removed considerable length (probably at least 1/4 inch) and changed the shape dramatically by filing the sides of the nail down. Also, the nails noticeably sloped from right to left. I sat down and pointed out the slope, which she fixed, but this resulted in more loss of length. Then the polishing began. She put base coat and two coats of polish with absolutely zero dry time, so that by the time she started applying top coat, I could already see air bubbles coming up. Then she bumped my thumb nail and left a big dent, which I had to point out to her to get it fixed. There was also a significant defect on the left middle finger that she fussed with but did not repair, I just left it because I was feeling defeated by then. I sat under the dryer for thirty minutes and was still not dry, then I realized she had used a quick-dry top coat over regular polish, which basically turns your nails into water balloons because the top coat forms a dry skin that slides around on the wet bottom coats. I finally just paid and left. I tried to salvage it in the hotel room to look presentable for work. I couldn’t wait to get home and fix this. Took off the polish on Saturday and it had already stained my nails a weird orange. I’ve never had OPI polish do that before. So, although they were pleasant and were recommended to me, I will never return here. I basically had to file my nails down and start over because the shape was simply ruined.
