I called Jastal plumbing to come out and look at my water heater I was told it was going to be $55. When Brad arrived, I explained what was going on, and he then let me know that there was going to be a diagnostic fee. Which was never told to me when I made the appointment. I asked Brad what that was and he told me he didn’t know until he looked at the water heater. Once he got to the water heater and looked, he let me know that it was going be$202. So $257.00 to look at it and let me know what’s wrong! I said no I can’t afford that! So he called a manager, and they said they would waive the diagnostic fee only if he looks at it and I agree to them fixing it. I said well considering that you charge $257 to just look at it I can only imagine the cost of labor and parts so I am going to decline. Then he says I am going to have to collect the $55. I said are you serious? You didn’t do anything? He said I drove an hour here. I said I realize that but you didn’t do anything. I went ahead and paid the $55, after he left I called the office and left a message for a manager to call me back. I got a call back from Allison who was the secretary that scheduled my appointment.Long story short, she was rude, said it’s not her job to let people know that there’s a diagnostic fee, I let her know that she needs to let people know that. And she refunded my $55. The other thing I wanted to say was Brad the technician Told me that any plumbing company would charge me a diagnostic fee.I called Apollo heating and plumbing. She told me their normal rate is $98 but because I was a new customer she could put that down to $49. I asked her if there was any hidden fees she said what do you mean and I said so when he comes out to look at my water heater, What is the diagnostic fee and she said that’s what the $49 is for. And I said so when he comes out and comes in and takes apart my water heater and looks at the heating elements and the thermostat and everything else and then determines what it is what is going to be my cost, she said $49. She said and then you will decide with him if you want us to fix it or if you want to buy a water heater from us then the $49 will go towards either one of those.Wow, what a surprise. There was no diagnostic fee like Brad told me there would be.So if you need heating and plumbing done, call Apollo heating and plumbing!Do not call Jastal heating and plumbing. They are a rip off!
