The Shop:
The shop is extremely clean and bright with a nice reception area including a stocked water fridge (so important to hydrate before, during and after your tattoos!!). It is an open concept room, with private tattoo rooms in other areas of the shop for those whose tattoos (or any other reason) need it. The vibes and music were also immaculate.
The Artists:
Drew is an acquaintance who tattoos some friends and his work is phenomenal. My artist was Symoad, which I will get to in a moment. I don't have any experience with the other artists, but I've seen their work (beautiful) and everyone was incredibly friendly. Tattoo shops can feel a bit intimidating or pretentious, and there was not an OUNCE of that in this shop. Every artist was friendly, professional, and very easy to chat with.
My artist/art:
I was fortunate enough that Symoad had time on the books for a friend and I to get a small memorial tattoo each, and then for me to get a larger tattoo on my thigh from her flash, which is the picture in this review.
From the get-go, Symoad so, so kind, friendly, and flexible, even down to me having to cancel the third tattoo of the day due to time constraints (I'm going back in November for it). The conversation ranged from life things, to funny stories, and anything in between. The appointment felt easy and relaxed. I never felt forced into having a conversation, or into silence. Everything just flowed so comfortably.
Symoad has a really gentle hand, and regularly checked in to see how I was doing. The art speaks for itself, I could not be more in love with this new piece. I'm particularly impressed with the shading. Just amazing all in all. I am so thrilled that a couple of tattoos on a whim has turned into an artist I feel I can trust with any art I'd like going forward. I will happily make the trip back up to Burlington a couple times a year to get some more work done.
I highly suggest running, not walking, to get on Symoad's books before they completely fill. However, you'd be fortunate to be tattooed by any of the artists there!
