The gas company shut off my gas because they said I had a "small" leak. They have a service where they will find the leak and repair it. They said, because it was such a small leak, it may be very hard to find.
Luckily, this is covered by home warranty company American Home Shield and it dispatched Freedom Plumbing. David from Freedom Plumbing was awesome. I explained to him why I thought I must have a pretty substantial leak and why I was so suspicious/unhappy with the gas company who I had to call out two months in a row. I also said I was concerned he wouldn't be able to find the "small" leak and asked what happens in that event. David said he was pretty confident he could figure it out and not to worry, which was a huge relief.
Well, not only did David find two smallish leaks, but he also found 1 really big leak. I have no idea why the gas company was so incompetent in conducting their pressure test that showed a small leak and in failing to appreciate that it must have been more than a small leak based upon having the gas bill double two months in a row in the middle of summer. They gave me some bogus explanation, which David also thought sounded ridiculous.
David is going to come back and do the repairs once the parts come in and I am confident he will do as great a job with the repairs as he did finding the leaks, dealing with American Home Shield, which can be a challenge, and relieving my anxiety over the situation.
