Dan worked within our ideas and desires to refit our basement, adding a 3/4 bathroom, storage room, and maintenance access, as well as refinishing the office and living space post-flooding damage. We spend a lot of time in our basement and Dan understood that, and created a comfortable and beautiful new space down there.
Some specifics:
--Dan's team finished the job 2 days ahead of his estimate. They were here every day, not splitting time between our basement and another work site. His team arrived at exactly the same time every day, stayed the whole day, and worked the whole time. They were on site Mon-Fri for the whole build.
--Dan's estimate came in a few thousand dollars less than others we received, and he stuck to that estimate. Every change or alteration was discussed with us before any money was spent, and Dan's expertise and experience means that what he quoted us for various parts of the build was exactly or very close to the final cost. He used several smart, cost-saving building techniques early on, as well as reusing materials where possible.
--The A1 crew knew their business. We could see measurable progress every day they were on site, and each day when they left the building area was clean and safe to walk through. There was never a fear that the basement would become a disaster area or that we wouldn't be able to use other areas of our house due to the construction.
--the plumbing and electrical contractors brought in were top-notch as well, which speaks to Dan's company's reputation: professionals like working with professionals. Everyone who came on the site knew exactly what they were doing and how they were going to do it, which meant they were in and out and their jobs done neatly and promptly.
We love our new basement and are completely satisfied with every aspect of dealing with A1QC. Now I'm looking around the rest of the house, wondering what else can be renovated...and when we find something, Dan and A1QC will be our first call.
