I very rarely write reviews but the way this company and office treated me as a potential customer was so negative that I am compelled to warn others. I was a potential customer shopping around for insurance rates bundling home and auto insurance. I simply wanted to shop around and explore my options. I dealt with one of the least professional salesmen I’ve ever corresponded with. I understand some degree of salesmanship or “upselling” but to flat out refuse a customer’s requests multiples times in an attempt to extract money from them is a massive red flag to say the least. After I had made the decision to go with a different company for my insurance needs because they were able to provide me with a significantly better rate, I was informed in a phone call that my account with Allstate would have to be set-up fully to cancel it - which I now believe was a lie. I consented to them setting up my account with the understanding that it would be canceled immediately. Instead of canceling my account - they pressured me to continue business with them. At this point I had had 2-3 phone calls verbally expressing my desire to cancel my account. I was pressured via email to keep them as my insurer - and I now confirmed in writing that I still wanted to cancel. Instead of canceling my account I was again pressured to continue with Allstate in the following way “Sure, I get that but the headache part is over with. The policies are setup and ready to go and you won’t have the exposure that you will have with your [other] policies. We provided you with the coverage you need to protect yourself which is why we are more expensive. If you are okay with living underinsured, I will cancel the policies for you”. I found this response to my written request to cancel, after multiple verbal requests to cancel, to be very disrespectful and dismissive. So to summarize, I simply wanted to shop rates for insurance. From what I can tell, I was lied to and informed that I needed to finish setting up an account to cancel an account which then led to me having to request multiple times verbally and twice via email to cancel my account because of what I perceived as a pushy salesman trying to earn a commission at the expense of customer satisfaction resulting in multiple hours of my time and energy being wasted.
