I was driving across country and had to stop to take a nap at a highway rest area early in the morning. When I woke up and tried to get back on the road, the engine would not crank. Of course, my first thought was the battery, but the strange thing was that the lights and wipers and everything else seemed to be working fine. When a jump start,(just in case) didn't help, I knew I would need to find a mechanic. I used Google maps to locate the ones nearby. I found a couple with a reasonable number of strong reviews. When I reached Bonner's Automotive of the phone, the friendly staff said they would do their best to work me in if I got the car towed there. The AAA tow truck took a while, but when I got there they moved my car right in. I've dealt with mechanics away from home and know they can sometimes try to do extra work to get more money from a desperate traveler. Not here. He said my starter was bad, but he could probably get my car running long enough to get me home if I didn't have to stop. With 8 hours travel and not enough gas to get home, I went for the repair. Within an hour of my arrival, I had a new starter at a fair price and was ready to hit the road.
Let me encourage folks looking for an honest, fair, and skilled mechanic, check out Bonner's Automotive. It's right downtown in Tallapoosa, and the people are as friendly as you could want to meet.
