In 2019, my wife experienced procedures to remove a cancerous growth on her brain. Surgery went well and she has been cancer free since. Along the recovery route, she continued to take care of the household bills on a monthly basis. In 2020, she missed a few payments from different vendors from our monthly bills. At that time I took over the monthly bill paying. I caught up on what I thought were all missed payments.
In November of 2023, pulling out of the garage, miss judgement and the bumper was damaged on our car. I called BBC&K to review my deductible. The assistant to my insurance agent informed me we did not have car insurance. I questioned her reasoning and she informed me that in 2020 a payment was not made and we no longer had car insurance!
At no time was anything sent in the mail to inform us our policy had expired. At no time did BBC&K agent or assistant call or contact me or my wife and ask why we stopped our car insurance.
So after 25 years of having insurance, no one a BBC&K questioned why we no longer needed car insurance, but our home is still insured by BBC&K.
Luckily, my call to BBC&K got my insurance renewed. Only explanation given was it was "during COVID"! I can't imagine the loss if my wife or I had an accident and hurt someone! No insurance, FOR 3 YEARS, we would have lost everything!
We are disappointed in BBC&K's inability to keep us informed of our insurance policies, even though it was from our household that the one bill was not paid.
Since, I have changed insurance companies and agents. I have not heard from anyone from BBC&K regarding the cancellations. Only a request to sign paperwork that I nonrenewed my policies.
