Austin Bouldering Project was my introduction to bouldering. I have been wanting to start for a while, but I was always a little intimidated by the culture. I assumed that those who regularly boulder don't take kindly to newcomers, so I kept putting it off. However, after just saying, "Screw it! Let's do this thing", I decided that I would give ABP a try. I couldn't be more wrong about the culture. They have been incredibly welcoming, and frankly, could care less if you are a pro or a novice. Everyone is just there to climb. The facility itself is incredibly modern, with lots of climbing space. The routes are fun, but challenging, so you are never left without something to try. They have free yoga classes and a weight room, to boot. It can get pretty packed on the weekend, but it's to be expected. I haven't committed to a membership yet, but I believe that is about to change.
