Waffle House is a southern staple and has become part of pop culture and especially the hip hop scene over the last couple of decades. Known for its rowdy late night scene as a popular destination for those under the influence. I had heard lots of great things but had never visited in my 12 years in the south. That changed this week and I have now visited twice and I see that continuing. The vibe is very much old school diner similar to mom and pop Greek diners you would find in New York, but with a southern flare. Service is prioritized, the lobby is set up in a way to maximize efficiency with tables bordering the front counter and food made to order directly in front of you. Prices are affordable and the menu is very customizable to your liking, just describe what you want. In a world that's becoming more and more distanced and anti social, Waffle House still has that old school breakfast hang out vibe that I very much appreciate, and despite being a giant corporation with tons of locations it remains unpretentious and down to earth. In today's world knowing this chain is available in so many locations is a privilege and a pleasure.
