Bewildering Pricing for Drinks:
I recently visited this bar and was taken aback by their unusual pricing structure for drinks. As someone with 20 years experience in the restaurant/ bar industry, I was surprised by the way my order was billed. I ordered an Angel's Envy in an Old Fashioned and was charged as if I had ordered three separate drinks – two full-priced Angel's Envies and a full-priced specialty cocktail.
The norm is to either charge for the premium liquor with a small upcharge for the cocktail or vice versa. However, here, I was charged $18 for the Angel's Envy, another $18 as it was deemed a double, and yet another $18 for the Old Fashioned.
This pricing strategy not only deviates from standard industry practices but also seems excessive and not customer-friendly. While I enjoyed the ambiance and the drink itself, the billing left a sour taste. I hope the management reconsiders their pricing structure to align with common industry standards and enhance customer satisfaction. Never in the Glen Rose market should one cocktail cost over $70, even in large established markets like New York and LA that same cocktail would be maybe half that
