As a fellow Mumbaikar, I’ve tried a few places to get a taste of authentic Maharashtrian food and this place has my heart Here are my top picks:
1. Misal Pav:This place in Pune was the closest I’ve come to eating proper Maharashtrian food. The misal pav was delicious, and it came with sol kadhi tari, onions, and my favorite misal tari to make it extra spicy.
2. Dabeli:The dabeli was decent. The chutneys they used had a perfect balance of sweet and spicy.
3. Maharashtrain Thali:This thali is worth every penny you spend on it. It had Jawar bhakri, pithla, laal thecha, Varan, and Bhat with Sheera and chaas. For the bhaji, it was baigan ka bharta.
If you’re just visiting for a quick bite, try their dahi puri. If you’re looking for a full meal, their bhature is also generously portioned.
