I bundled up, drove 35 minutes into the city, and surprisingly found parking with ease—because, let’s be honest, who else is risking frozen extremities for brunch on a holiday? From the moment I stepped inside The Real Milk and Honey, I understood why this place was packed. Though no one greeted me immediately, the energy in the room was magnetic. I spotted my friend, already tucked into a cozy corner table, and our server, the fabulous and oh-so-patient UniQue, greeted me with a smile, saying, “Oh, she told me you were parking. Welcome!” That small detail set the tone for what was about to be a fantastic brunch experience. Now, let’s talk food—because wow. I came in determined to try those honey biscuits I’d seen all over Instagram, and let me just say: they did not disappoint. My friend and I split an order because, you know, waistlines. But by the second bite, I deeply regretted not ordering a whole batch for myself (and one to hoard for later). They were buttery, flaky, and drizzled with honey that whispered, “Calories don’t count today.” For my main dish, I went with the catfish and grits. When I asked UniQue about the difference between that and the platter, she broke it down: $3 and some potatoes.
