Let me start by mentioning all the low ratings. I'm really surprised by some of them. Truck drivers complaining about not having access to the store because of drive-through only periods is just silly griping. No, we aren't the main customers at this location despite being in a truck stop. Watching customers walk in during my meal, it was clear that most customers are simply travelers passing through, not truck drivers. If people don't show up to work, management has two choices. They can either switch to drive-through only mode or they can close the store. The rent for a prime location like a busy truck stop is higher than most places, so prices will be higher than normal, and it will stay open as often as possible so they can pay that rent as well as the recent increase in hourly pay rates for workers. Taco Bell doesn't want anyone to go away hungry or unhappy with their visit. Due to labor shortages across the country, there are times when services will be limited. Anybody with half a brain will see why. Serving walk-up customers in a drive-through is potentially dangerous. They aren't going to risk their business just because somebody wants a taco. This location would be improved if it adopted a walk-up window like the Taco Bells had 40 years ago, but remodeling to deal with something that should be a temporary issue isn't financially sound.
The person who claimed they got a non-vegetarian item instead of what they ordered should have gotten a refund. It's such a normal way of handling that kind of event it made me wonder if the story was as simple as they claimed. Regardless of what happened, they should contact management at their corporate number to report what happened. If they did order vegetarian and got something else, it would clearly be a simple refund event. The only reasons I can think of it not happening is if the customer got abusive with the staff or they ate most of the order before asking for a refund. I'm not accusing them, just throwing out when it would be appropriate to refuse refunding.
This is the only Taco Bell in the country that I've had consistently good service. I've visited this location at least 6 times over the years. My order has been correct on every visit and the staff is always friendly. I travel constantly, and Taco Bell is my preferred fast food choice. The only complaint on my last visit was the tortilla on my Mexican Pizza. It seemed like it wasn't the normal kind. It should be crisp and light, but it felt more like a tostada type of tortilla. It didn't taste bad, just not what I prefer. The store itself was clean and tidy. Exactly what I want to see when visiting a fast food chain.
