The food here is delicious and rivals skewer places that I have visited in Japan. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful, and you can tell that a lot of care was put into each dish. The dining area can be crowded as it isn't too big,...Read More

The food here is as close as you can get in Japan without actually going to Japan. I always get a three skewers (beef, pork, and chicken) bento. It comes with salad that you choose your own dressing and a soft boiled egg. I also...Read More

It's sad that they've removed the yummy soup from the galbi set, but overall it's still good. It's one of the few authentic yakitori places in the bay area. Highly recommend beef tongue set.

Tasty yakitori skewers served in a Japanese themed Izakaya environment. Lots of different meats and veggie items to choose from. Some of the favorites are chicken skin, beef, mushrooms, shishito peppers, and chicken butt. Sapporo beer on tap goes well with the meat skewers. Fast...Read More

Authentic yakitori place, typical wait around 30-45mins but if you don’t mind the bar, you might get seated much faster. Favorite skewers include scallop, pork with scallions and beef with sauce. Also enjoyed the beef tongue and mushrooms. Servers very responsive and the ordering system is intuitive...Read More

Sumiya is an authentic Japanese yakitori restaurant offering traditional Japanese dishes and cooking. We’ve frequented Sumiya over the years, and I always order their ika sugatayaki, potato mochi, and their takowasa (raw octopus with wasabi). If you have room their green tea creme brûlée is a...Read More

Sumiya is an absolute gem! Our to go options any time we crave Japanese food (sushi/sashimi aside). The open kitchen adds to the authenticity, and the atmosphere is wonderfully genuine. We can't get enough of their Yurinchi. Also, if you are adventurous, the chicken liver...Read More

I stop here every time I'm in the area for work. I love charcoal grilled skewers (kushiyaki). Their chicken wings are crispy on the outside while juicy on the inside. Everything else are very delicious, cooked just right, and perfectly seasoned. I came pretty late...Read More

All skewers I tried were with salt, not sauce. Mi, chicken with skin. Very tasty, the skin had a little crisp to it. Yummy. Hatsu, chicken hearts. Good, a little under seasoned. Kimo, chicken livers. Very tasty as liver tends to bi. Kamo. Was rare and so tender. Shishito peppers...Read More
