Recently, I had dinner at Soya Sushi Bar and overall had a good experience, but there are some things that I feel can improve. Beginning with the positives, the staff were all very friendly, there is tons of parking, the food / drinks all came in a timely manner, and there were some definite standouts on the menu. When it comes to drinks, I'd definitely recommend ordering the Honey Bee cocktail. The flavors in it are absolutely perfect and pair well with the seafood on the menu. As for the food items, you definitely have to try the sushi pizza, volcano roll, and pineapple chaufa. These dishes were all really good and I'd definitely order them again. Although I enjoyed the spot overall, I do think some things should improve. To begin with, I felt like most of the cocktails we ordered either had way too little alcohol (tasted like juice) or had way too much (which made them less enjoyable). In some of the drinks, the alcohol just completely overpowered the other ingredients which wasn't good. When it comes to the menu, I just feel like some of the items are way too much of a fusion for me (such as the salmon croquettes). Coming from a person that eats pretty much everything, some of the flavor profiles were just a bit too "fusion" for their own good. Otherwise, I felt the service was a bit lacking. Although the waitress did walk by a few times, she never offered water or checked in on how things are going till we flagged her down (shouldn't be the case in a restaurant w/ an automatic tip). Overall, it was a fine experience, but I do feel like some improvements could be made to make the experience even better.
