I wish there were more Sichuan restaurants like this in town. It has authentic flavors - I'm addicted to their rattan pepper chicken, toothpick lamb, spicy boiled beef, and many other dishes. I do wish they have "Yuxiang Rousi", and a few other traditional Sichuan dishes as well. There are areas they can improve: 1. Cleanliness. The food material is usually fresh, but the quality can dip on a Monday to Wednesday - I'd give it a 8/10. The restaurant's cleanliness rates about 6/10, with a horrific restroom and sticky chairs that detract from the atmosphere. 2. Service. Most the time, you must to pay and order from a QR code, the service is limited, possibly due to low tip expectations. Given that the average cost per person is between $30 and $50, they really need to improve their service. I'd rate the service 7/10. However, they do excel in presenting traditional street food and farm-style serving plates and bowls, earning a 9/10 for the presentation. Plus the unparalleled authentic Chinese flavors in Orange County leaves little competition, as most of the other local Chinese restaurants would only score lower in cleanliness, service and flavor. Meizhou Dongpo has better atmosphere and service, however, if you order Kung Pao chicken from them once, you'd find it worse than Panda Express.
