This is the kind of place I seek: a small, unassuming, local mom & pop joint frequented by locals. In this case, Cuban- American locals. It's nothing to look at, but it has decent sized portions of tasty Cuban fare at modest prices. Amid a sea of chain outfits, this one is a gem. They do breakfast and lunch too. I'll be back.
UPDATE: on our last recent visit I encountered something different when I paid my bill. I never see a receipt, I just pay in cash and put money in the tip jar. This time, the bill was higher than it should have been. When I was shown the receipt, I saw it included a 15% service fee. I don't mind this, but patrons need to know it's on there so that they don't end up tipping twice like I did.
