Walking in it looks like a nice place, the atmosphere is nice. That was where it ended for us. Server was quiet, she was young, wasn't very friendly, just kind of there. She wasn't rude or anything, just no real personable personality. She offered no conversation at all, but she had a lot to say when she was standing around talking to the young guys in the back at the kitchen window. I wouldn't put the reputation of a diner on the shoulders of one young server, from one visit though, I know people have bad days, something could have been on her mind etc, ill give her the benefit of the doubt, my issue was the food. Came out quick, but the reason was probably because there was nothing to the meal. I ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and sweet potato fries. She asked if I wanted the 5oz or 10oz size, I said 10oz. She should have said, do you want the single or double patty, because that's what the difference was. No biggie, but pointing it out. It was $13 for this meal as a single patty. Not to bad I thought, for what you'd normally get at a restaurant, from experience. Maybe the expectations were too high on my side tho. You see in the pic what I got, minus 2 fries my wife tried. The burgers were from frozen, and cheap, when asked I ordered them medium rare, they came well done and dry. One piece of Swiss very well melted like you'd see from a microwave, and a couple canned mushrooms on top, on a normal sized potato bun. Fries were undercooked inside. My grandson also got a burger, a cheese burger, same microwaved cheese, overdone as well, ordered regular fries, and literally got a small child's handful of fries on his plate. I thought my portion was small until I saw his. Again burger overcooked, but fries were at least done. Wife got cheesesteak, she wasn't impressed but it was ok, she also got chili as side, which was a large bowl, and tasted good.We will not be going here again for awhile, if ever, when my wife mentioned the portion sizes when cashing out the woman smiled and agreed and said she knows and she's sorry but that's what the owner wants portion sizes to be.. pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered, maybe the owner will see one day that portion sizes alone will actually bring in more people, walking out after a $60 bill for 2 adults and a child, with nothing ordered but entree and drinks ($4 each) is a big turn off for me, had the portion been bigger and I'd felt like I had a meal and not a snack maybe it would be different.What you see in the pic was an $18 meal.
