On our way, we thought we should grab something to eat and Poppa Jimmy's was one of the highest rated places around, so we decided to give it a try!
We had no idea what to expect but we were hoping a special and unique experience. We wanted the "local", "real" thing and we definitely got it!
Decoration and style wise it isn't much, but what they lack in it they offer in hospitality and taste! The waitress explained the menu to us and we decided to go with the sweet water combo which included a bit of everything we were eager to try such as catfish (their specialty), frog legs and alligator tail!
We hadn't eaten the latter two before, so it's hard to compare, but we totally enjoyed them!
The dish costed around 16$ and it was enough for 2 persons. Most importantly we got a taste of a different kind of Florida, more of Southern US state perhaps which we are grateful for.
So if you're around the area and feeling like something authentic, then you should definitely visit Poppa Jimmy's. You won't regret it!
