Dry hotpot was great. Others were very plain. A little disappointed. Normally there should be good Chinese/Asian restaurants around university campus in today's US. Probably here in Charlottesville, VA, there seemed not many Asian students.

This restaurant was a lifesaver; my family needed to eat dinner late, and we were let in to eat just 15 minutes before closing time. The restaurant didn’t rush us at all, they just wanted to make sure the staff left work on time; we’re so grateful for their kindness and welcoming attitude. The dishes are fairly portioned and priced, especially for Sichuan food. We paid about 80 dollars excluding tip for 4 people, which is fair. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and delicious and absolutely hit the spot. Absolutely scrumptious; also, you can tell them how spicy you want the dishes, so that was helpful. We ordered the fried green beans, which was full of flavor, a bit too salty; the spicy fish, which came in a large portion, and not too spicy since we asked for light spice; double cooked pork, which was also a bit salty and spicy but had some crunchy vegetables; finally, the cumin lamb; which was flavored nicely with the cumin spice and was very tender. We ate as soon as the food came, so the photos show the dishes after they’ve been partially consumed. The service, in particular the waitress, was very nice to us, allowing us come in so late and chatting with us. The restaurant is clean and large and decor is colorful and pleasant. We’re very satisfied after this experience; this restaurant is for sure authentic Sichuan and Chinese, all the staff are friendly and attentive, the food came out very quickly, and we’re extremely pleased with this meal. We’re from New York so we’re used to a variety of cuisines and choices of restaurants, but when we came down to Virginia, many of the restaurants seemed unauthentic, poorly rated, expensive, etc, but this restaurant has surprised us with its tasty dishes and authenticity. We plan to eat here again tomorrow; it’s true comfort food for us. The only notable issue was that a few of the dishes were a bit over salted, but with our water and rice it wasn’t a big problem. Everything I’ve written here is 100% true; we fully recommend eating at Peter Chang; you won’t regret coming. I would recommend dining in, because other reviews say delivery was disappointing; food is hotter and fresher in person. Service Dine in Meal type Dinner Price per person $20–30

Excellent and affordable food. A great recommendation by an acquaintance who frequently visit their child studying at UVA. Much better than the standard chinese restaurant, especially if you go outside your comfort zone and order something besides sweet and sour chicken. I recommend the dry fried eggplant, the bamboo fish, and the cumin lamb.
