We were greeted by the hostess Victoria and taken to a booth. Victoria said our server Natalie would be right over. Five minutes passed, and Victoris came back asking if she could bring us a beverage. Which she did promptly. Our server, Natalie, arrived about five minutes later and took our order. Natalie brought us our soup. The minestrone soup I had did not have any tomato flavor, and the broth was clear like water. The soup was half shell macaroni. The soup also had cut up snap pea pods in it that I was not able to chew through (see photo). I brought this to our servers' attention, and Joni, the kitchen manager, came to the table and told us she would investigate. Joni apologized and brought me a bowl of the zuppa Toscana soup. This bowl of soup had a potato slice in it a third the size of the bowl (see photo)
There was no kale in the soup at all. The sausage in It was ground up into the tiniest pieces. The broth of this soup also lacked flavor. It has been over 15 minutes since our order was taken, and we still did not have any breadsticks. I did notice that the booth next to us who placed their order about 10 minutes after us was already eating breadsticks. We flagged down Natalie and asked for breadsticks. Our order arrived, and shortly afterward, the breadsticks finally arrived. They were not fresh. They tasted day old at best. My chicken mushroom dish lacked mushrooms and flavor. The salt shaker at our table had only 1/4 inch of caked hard salt in the bottom of it (see photo). I got up and went looking for a way to get a refill on my beverage, and our server Natalie was in a group of servers chatting and laughing together. Joni came back to our table to hear about the zuppa Toscana soup and apologized again. Joni told us that the size of the potato in the soup depended on the size of the potatoes delivered. What? Joni told us we we would not be charged for our meals and hoped we we would consider giving this location another try. Joni took our plates. Natalie then showed up with a new salt shaker. Joni insisted that they were following the corporate recipes. I have been to most of the Olive Garden sites in the Twin Cities. These two soups were not edible to me and were not like any I have had at other locations.
